This smart jump rope is really fun to use. The best part is that I can get in a jump rope workout without worrying about space. I don't have to worry about hitting anyone around me, or a jump rope skimming the ceiling or snagging on anything that may be in the immediate vicinity.
These are really easy to use and the digital display works perfectly. You just push the button on one handle to get started. There are 3 different settings – count jumps as you go, jump for a certain amount of time, or set a jump goal that counts down as you go. The count is spot on, too. Each full swing of the ball is considered a jump and the swings glide very smoothly. There's no interference at all. (Disregard the swing issues shown in the video; I was trying to film in one hand, keeping it as steady as possible, while swinging the device in the other. Not exactly an easy multitasking effort.)
I have not used the app, so I can't comment on that. However, the app is not needed. I have a lot of fun using this smart jump rope without the app.
Although this smart jump rope is great for absolutely anyone, I think it's really good for beginners who may not be quite ready to leave the ground when jumping. Jumping rope can be very hard on the feet, legs, and knees, so for a beginner who would just prefer to start getting into the motion of bouncing without leaving the ground, this smart jump rope is perfect. You're still swinging your arms and getting the bounce in, which still works out your calves and feet. Then gradually over time, your endurance and strength increases, and you build up to full jumps off the ground, even if not a jump high enough for a traditional jump rope to go underneath. It's all about progress and this smart jump rope is perfect for that.
